Government Hospitals Conducts Specialized Training Programme on Blood Withdrawal and Intravenous Access

Manama: Government Hospitals has held a specialised training programme on improving procedures for blood withdrawal and intravenous access, with the participation of medical and nursing professionals from across its facilities. The programme was attended by Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts to raise the quality of healthcare services and build the capacity of medical staff, through the adoption of international best practices and the application of the latest safety standards.

Professor Omar Abdulaziz Al Awadhi, Head of Training at Government Hospitals, highlighted the importance of continued compliance with infection-control protocols and the implementation of approved procedures to safeguard both patients and healthcare workers.

The programme featured an exhibition of training tools and highlighted recent efforts to enhance practices in blood withdrawal and intravenous access. It also included a series of specialist lectures delivered by experts from departments including anaesthesia, cardiology, orthopaedics, and infection control, contributing to the breadth and impact of the training.
