Government Hospitals Administration Recognized as Holistic Role Model by Arab Hospitals Federation

Manama: The Government Hospitals administration has been awarded the Holistic Role Model recognition in the seventh cycle of the Gold Initiative Certificate, organised by the Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF), in recognition of their institutional excellence and implementation of the highest standards of quality, patient safety, innovation, and sustainability in healthcare delivery.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the achievement follows the Government Hospitals' participation in six main categories under the initiative, reflecting its integrated efforts in governance, quality of healthcare services, patient safety, risk management, innovation, sustainability, empowerment of national competencies, and the development of the work environment. The achievement earned the Government Hospitals one of the highest levels of institutional recognition conferred by the Arab Hospitals Federation.

Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of the Government Hospitals administration, said the achievement reflects the continuous support extended to the healthcare sector in the Kingdom and the dedicated efforts of national healthcare professionals to enhance the quality of health services and strengthen institutional performance.

She said that receiving the Holistic Role Model recognition was the result of integrated teamwork and reflects the Kingdom's success in building an institutional healthcare system founded on quality, governance, innovation, and sustainability, while placing patients, their safety, and their experience at the centre of its priorities.

Dr. Al Jalahma added that the recognition would serve as an incentive to continue developing healthcare services and adopting international best practices and standards, contributing to improving the patient experience, enhancing service efficiency, and reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a leading model in healthcare quality and institutional excellence.

For her part, Alice Yammine Boueiz, Chief Executive Officer of the Arab Hospitals Federation, congratulated the Government Hospitals on the achievement. She noted that the seventh cycle of the initiative received 323 applications from 10 Arab countries, with 45 institutions receiving recognition across four levels: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Holistic Role Model. She said the awards followed a comprehensive assessment conducted by the judging committee in cooperation with specialised international partners, including Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), The Beryl Institute, and Global Healthcare Travel Council.
