Manama: The General Directorate of Traffic has announced a prohibition on the use of unlicensed scooters and similar vehicles on main public roads. This ban extends to vehicle lanes, road shoulders, emergency lanes, and designated stopping areas, as part of efforts to align with traffic laws and ensure the safety of all road users.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the directorate revealed that the decision was made after observing the unregulated use of scooters, which has resulted in fatal accidents, injuries, and posed threats to lives and property. Additionally, it has been causing disruptions to the smooth flow of traffic.
The directive warns that violators will face the confiscation of their scooters and legal action. The General Directorate of Traffic urges all road users to adhere to traffic regulations to maintain road safety.
