GCC Secretary General Meets Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Tunis: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Shri Vipul, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Albudaiwi congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in carrying out his duties. The meeting reviewed GCC-India relations and means to further develop and enhance cooperation in support of mutual interests.

According to Bahrain News Agency, both sides discussed the latest developments regarding the launch of negotiations on the GCC-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA), signed in February 2026. Discussions also covered the GCC-India ministerial meeting scheduled for September.

The two sides exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, and underscored the importance of continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest in support of regional security and stability.
