Riyadh: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Kjersti Tromsdal, Ambassador of Norway to Saudi Arabia. The Secretary General congratulated the ambassador on her appointment, wishing her success in her new role. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation between the GCC and Norway. This dialogue was held in the context of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides on February 19, 2022. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the free trade agreement signed in June 2009, which came into effect on July 1, 2015. The agreement encompasses trade in goods and services, investment, and technical cooperation.
