Vienna: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), sent a cable of congratulations to Shaikha Hessa bint Ali Al Khalifa on her election as Second Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) during the 68th session held in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Secretary General emphasized that this accomplishment stands as a source of pride for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He noted that it reflects the status achieved by Gulf talent, particularly Bahraini women, who have consistently demonstrated their capabilities across international platforms.
He further commended the role of Bahraini women in the fields of science and technology, a role made possible through the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This support has empowered Bahraini women to contribute to sustainable development and strengthen their presence.
