Riyadh: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest terms the attack on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) involving three drones, including one that targeted the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi noted that the attack on the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant represents a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to regional security and stability.
He stressed that the attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international laws and norms related to the protection of vital and nuclear facilities, given its potentially catastrophic consequences for regional and international security, including the safety of civilians, the environment, and global energy supplies.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the full support of GCC member states for the UAE in all measures undertaken to safeguard its security and stability and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
