New york: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), engaged in discussions with Geir O. Pedersen, the United Nations (UN) Envoy to Syria, during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on strategies to aid Syria, emphasizing the enhancement of living and humanitarian conditions for the Syrian population. Topics of discussion included the need for political and security stability, as well as the promotion of economic and developmental recovery in Syria.
The Secretary-General highlighted the necessity for regional and international collaboration to gather humanitarian and developmental support, aimed at helping the Syrian government and its people navigate both current and future challenges.
