GCC Rejects Iranian Allegations Against UAE

Manama: Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), strongly condemned the false and unacceptable allegations in a statement issued by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Albudaiwi said the allegations reflected Iran's continued escalatory and provocative approach towards countries in the region. He added that Iran had continued attacks targeting UAE territory, alongside attempts to distort facts in violation of international law and norms.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the GCC Secretary-General said the Iranian statement demonstrated a clear intent to escalate tensions and undermine regional security and stability, adding that it reflected a hostile approach that threatens regional security and the safety of its peoples. Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC states' full solidarity with the UAE and support for all measures taken to safeguard its security, stability and sovereignty. He stressed that the UAE's security forms an integral part of the collective security of all GCC member states.
