Manama:Brigadier Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al Doseri, Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), chaired the 42nd meeting of the Directors-General of Passports of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting focused on strengthening joint Gulf cooperation in passport and residence affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agenda included discussions on the GCC Unified Visa project and the One-Stop Travel project for air travel. These initiatives aim to facilitate travel procedures and enhance integration among GCC countries.
Participants reviewed the outcomes of the first meeting of the technical team tasked with developing passport and residence systems across the GCC. They considered technical proposals to improve these systems, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and expertise exchange among relevant authorities.
The meeting underscored the necessity of ongoing coordination and support for joint GCC projects. By utilizing modern technologies, the goal is to enhance service efficiency, facilitate passenger movement, and strengthen GCC integration.
Delegates reiterated their commitment to pursuing shared objectives and aspirations for GCC citizens through continuous joint efforts.
On the sidelines, GCC delegations visited Bahrain International Airport. They were briefed on the One-Stop Travel procedures for passengers arriving from the United Arab Emirates via Zayed International Airport, as part of efforts to streamline travel systems and strengthen airport integration across GCC countries.
