Beijing: The Council of Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Beijing held a series of meetings with senior officials of the People's Republic of China. Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Mohammed Adnan Shaikho, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to China and the rotating chair of the Council, alongside GCC ambassadors, engaged with noteworthy Chinese officials including the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, and the Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikho also convened with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to discuss numerous issues of mutual interest. The discussions during these meetings revolved around the latest regional developments, particularly the ongoing Iranian attacks against GCC countries and Jordan. The meetings also addressed the repercussions of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the global economy and explored ways to enhance cooperation mechanisms between GCC missions and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in both bilateral and multilateral dimensions.
