GCC Ambassadors Discuss Regional Threats and Cooperation with Malaysian Parliament

Kuala lumpur: GCC Ambassadors in Malaysia convened with the Malaysian Parliament's Special Select Committee on International Relations and International Trade to address pressing regional issues and explore avenues for increased cooperation. The meeting, chaired by Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Malaysia, was held under Bahrain's presidency of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Manea, representing the GCC Ambassadors, condemned the Iranian attacks on Bahrain and other GCC member states, highlighting these actions as violations of sovereignty and breaches of international law and the UN Charter. He emphasized the broader implications of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, noting its effects on international maritime navigation, global energy markets, and related economic factors.

The discussions also touched on enhancing collaboration between the GCC, Malaysia, and ASEAN in several key areas, including energy security, maritime protection, and food security. The meeting underscored the importance of supporting diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and foster peace and stability on both regional and international fronts.
