Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security and Strait of Hormuz Closure

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone call with Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia. During the call, they discussed the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to enhance regional security and stability and to protect maritime navigation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers reviewed the consequences of Iran's continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz on international trade, the global economy, and food and humanitarian supply chains. The two sides further exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination during their membership in the United Nations Security Council, in support of efforts to advance Security Council resolutions related to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
