“Forever Green” Campaign Enhances Manama Environment with 64 New Trees.

Manama: The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) has advanced its "Forever Green" afforestation campaign by planting 64 trees and shrubs at the Ibn Khaldoon Social Centre. This initiative, covering 259 square metres, is supported by funding from the Trafco Group. According to Bahrain News Agency, the launch event was attended by several key figures, including Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of NIAD; Sahar Al Mannai, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Development; and Azzam Moutragi, CEO of Trafco Group. During the event, Shaikha Maram bint Isa highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to achieve environmental sustainability. The Secretary General noted that Trafco Group's involvement contributes to the ongoing success of the "Forever Green" campaign. The greening of the centre is expected to benefit its visitors and increase green spaces in the densely populated area. Shaikha Maram bint Isa further emphasized that plantin g trees at social centres directly improves the surrounding environment and enhances the quality of life for beneficiaries. Azzam Moutragi expressed pride in Trafco Group's support for the campaign, which aligns with the company's commitment to social responsibility, environmental preservation, and sustainability. He stated that the greening of the social centre underscores the importance of cooperation between the private sector and government institutions in achieving environmental and developmental goals that benefit the community and enhance quality of life. Moutragi also emphasized that the group will continue to support similar initiatives in the future, highlighting that expanding green spaces is a long-term investment in both the environment and society.
