Foreign Ministry Undersecretary chairs 2nd ACD senior officials’ meeting

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired today a virtual meeting for senior officials at Asia Cooperation Dialogue in preparation for the 18th ACD Ministerial Meeting. The meeting was attended by the ACD Secretary-General Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana as well as representatives from ACD member states.

The Undersecretary for Political Affairs affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance cooperation and partnership among the ACD member states in the 6 priority pillars: Connectivity; Science, Technology and Innovation; Education and Human Resource Development; Interrelation of Food, Energy and Water Security; Culture and Tourism; and Promoting Approaches to Inclusive and Sustainable Development.

He underlined the importance of utilizing the huge human and material potentials in the Asian continent, and the investment of joint capabilities in the development of economic, commercial, and financial cooperation among member states, which contributes to reducing poverty and climate change problems and improving living standards.

He also looked forward to the outcomes of the 18th ACD Ministerial Meeting, which will be held under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the period 2021-2022 under the theme “Post-Pandemic Sustainable Recovery”.
