Foreign Ministry; Supreme Council for Women discuss cooperation

The Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Chair of Foreign Ministry Equal Opportunities Committee Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, met the the Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women,  Shaikha Dina bint Rashid Al Khalifa, in the presence of specialists from both sides.

 

They reviewed the ministry’s achievements in promoting equal opportunities for both genders in the areas of employment, training, scholarships and promotion, and its efforts to support the honorable presence of women in regional and international forums.

 

They noted that women make up 33% of the national diplomatic cadres, highlighting  other aspects of fruitful cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women, in line with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2013-2022), and its strategies, frameworks, programs and initiatives.

 

The ministry outlined  the prospects for joint cooperation and coordination with the Council in following up on the implementation of the recommendations of the national report on gender balance, supporting the progress of women and their active participation in government work and decision-making, especially in the diplomatic corps

 

The two sides discussed future work priorities and areas of cooperation within the Ministry’s strategy for equal opportunities and balance between both genders, in line with the National Human Rights Plan and Economic Vision 2030, in support of the sustainable development goals.
