Foreign Ministry stresses Bahrain’s solidarity with the Palestinian people

The Head of the Arab Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Tarifi, has participated in the stand of solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people, organized by the Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Kingdom of Bahrain, at its headquarters this evening.

He gave a statement in which he affirmed the Bahrain’s support and solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in their national struggle to achieve their legitimate rights that were endorsed by the international community and affirmed in the resolutions of the United Nations, Arab league, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international organizations and forums.

He noted the role that Bahraini diplomacy is playing in these difficult times with its Arab brothers in fulfillment of its duty in support of the Palestinian brothers to achieve their legitimate aspirations.

Al Tarifi referred to the firm position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the emergency meetings, recently held by the Arab League and OIC’s Executive Committee at the level of foreign ministers to discuss the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for the Egyptian initiative aiming at a truce.

He said the Kingdom of Bahrain calls on the international community, the UN Security Council, and the influential countries in the region to support the Egyptian initiative and urge the two sides to embark on negotiations to reach a durable ceasefire.

The Head of the Arab Affairs Sector expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong condemnation of the Israeli attacks, calling on all sides to stop the escalation as soon as possible to spare innocent lives that are being lost daily as a result of this dangerous escalation.

He stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain adheres to peace as a strategic option to solve the Palestinian issue and achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state in accordance with the two-state solution, the Arab initiative, and relevant international decisions.
