Foreign Minister: Royal Speech Presents Comprehensive Vision for Sustaining Developmental, Civilisational, and Diplomatic Achievements

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's speech at the inauguration of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term. He said it presented a comprehensive vision to sustain the Kingdom of Bahrain's developmental, civilisational, and diplomatic achievements, and to enhance the Kingdom's standing as a destination of goodwill, tolerance, peace, innovation, and leadership.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister noted that the speech set national priorities focused on institutional integration and constructive cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, under the direct supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, based on the constitution and the National Action Charter, aiming for Bahrain's prosperity and advancement.

He highlighted that the speech placed Bahraini citizens at the centre of comprehensive development as the country's true wealth. He praised the Crown Prince's initiative to create more job opportunities through cooperation between the government and private sectors, and the strengthening of the legislative and oversight roles of both Shura and Representatives Councils. He also noted His Majesty's keenness on enhancing press freedom within a modern legislative framework that guarantees public rights and freedoms while supporting the rule of law, justice, and competitiveness.

The Minister commended His Majesty King's praise for the contributions of young national professionals, supported by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs. He highlighted key achievements mentioned in the speech, including the successful launch of the Bahraini satellite and royal directives to consolidate scientific and technological development, economic diversification, adoption of artificial intelligence and renewable energy technologies, environmental and wildlife preservation, and marine resource protection.

Dr. Al Zayani expressed pride in the national diplomatic principles reaffirmed in the speech, reflecting Bahrain's approach to establishing just, lasting peace in the region, supporting the Palestinian cause based on a two-state solution, and appreciating the efforts of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States, in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The speech also emphasised Bahrain's pride in its Arab and Islamic identity and its active role in supporting international peace and security through its non-permanent membership on the UN Security Council for 2026-2027.

He concluded by affirming that, guided by the royal vision and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's directives, Bahrain continues its comprehensive and sustainable developmental and civilisational achievements, supported by leadership, the dedication of its defence and security forces in maintaining stability and security, and the awareness and commitment of its people to noble human values and traditions.
