Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, today received the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, David McAllister.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister welcomed McAlister, praising the depth of cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union. He noted the importance of such visits in enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides and achieving their common interests, stressing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties and cooperation between countries.
McAlister expressed his pleasure at visiting Bahrain and meetings senior officials, reviewing the distinguished friendship relations between the Kingdom and the European Union.
He stressed the European Union’s keenness to continue joint cooperation with Bahrain and to promote coordination frameworks towards various regional and international issues.
The two sides discussed ways to develop and promote joint cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union to serve common interests. They also exchanged views on the latest political and security situation in the region, and its repercussions on security and stability.
