Foreign Minister Participates in UN Meeting on Arab Plan for Gaza Reconstruction

New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a special meeting organised by the Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the United Nations in New York, focusing on the Arab plan for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. The gathering included several Arab and foreign ministers, along with representatives from international organisations, such as the United Nations and the European Union.

In his remarks, Dr. Al Zayani expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's support for the Gaza reconstruction plan and praised Egypt's efforts to prepare the initiative and gather international backing for its implementation. He reiterated Bahrain's opposition to any forced displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza and renewed the call for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages and detainees, and the provision of urgent humanitarian assistance to civilians.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Ruwaei, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
