New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Dr. Abdullah Al Alimi Bawazeer, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, to discuss strengthening ties and security issues.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and was attended by Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Yemen in support of mutual objectives. They also covered security developments in Yemen, including the efforts of the legitimate government to restore state authority and achieve stability. The dialogue aimed at finding a sustainable political solution in Yemen, in alignment with internationally recognized references and UN efforts.
Additionally, the meeting addressed maritime navigation safety in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and its impact on international trade, energy, food supplies, and the global economy. Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations, was also present at the meeting.
