Muscat: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, lauded the outcomes of the state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Oman, made at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. He highlighted the fruitful discussions held between the two leaders, describing the visit as a significant addition to the historical ties and the strong and distinguished strategic partnership between the two countries and their peoples.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister commended the warm official reception and joyful celebrations held in Muscat to welcome His Majesty King Hamad, reflecting the genuine friendship and affection of Oman's leadership and people for His Majesty the King. He noted that these gestures demonstrated the depth of the longstanding and distinguished relations between the two countries and their peoples.
Dr. Al Zayani valued the signing of several agreements, memoranda of understanding, and executive programmes during the visit. These covered various fields, including economic, investment, education, health, culture, media, security, technology, and expertise exchange. He emphasised that these agreements reflect the commitment of both countries' leaderships to strengthening and developing their strategic partnership towards greater inclusivity and sustainability, particularly in areas such as food security, renewable energy, and logistics.
He pointed out the government's commitment, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to further enhancing relations with Oman, based on solid foundations of mutual respect and shared cultural and historical heritage. He noted the ongoing efforts to activate the outcomes of the royal visit and sustain cooperation through the Joint Ministerial Committee, which held its eighth session in Muscat last November.
The Minister highlighted that the Bahrain-Oman summit embodied the alignment of diplomatic positions between the two leaderships in supporting GCC integration, enhancing joint Arab action, and advancing initiatives endorsed by the 33rd Arab Summit, chaired by His Majesty King Hamad. These initiatives aim to support just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, prioritise dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution, and provide humanitarian and relief assistance to those in need.
Dr. Al Zayani emphasised that the visit clearly demonstrated the depth of the ties between the leaderships and peoples of Bahrain and Oman. He expressed their aspirations to strengthen cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership in a way that serves shared interests and enhances their pivotal role in fostering security, peaceful coexistence, and prosperity for the region and the world.
