Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the initiatives led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in fostering peace, coexistence, and dialogue among various cultures and religions. This statement was made in observance of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, coinciding with the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer".
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister reiterated Bahrain's dedication, guided by His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to bolstering values of tolerance, human fraternity, and respect for cultural and religious diversity.
Dr. Al Zayani underscored Bahrain's significant role in promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogue. The country has been active in hosting international conferences, launching global initiatives, and building partnerships both regionally and internationally, all aimed at fostering sustainable peace and development.
He praised the contributions of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC) in advancing humanitarian values. Additionally, he noted Bahrain's international acclaim for its religious and cultural diversity, including recognition by Guinness World Records for the highest density of places of worship for different religions.
The minister reaffirmed Bahrain's dedication to encouraging dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution, and international cooperation through its diplomatic engagements and its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
