Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a strategic telephone conversation with Baiba Bra€š¬¦¾e, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. The discussion revolved around critical regional developments and the significant impact of recent Iranian actions on the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the two officials deliberated on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation and its broad implications for the global economy. The conversation also focused on efforts to ensure regional security and stability amidst these challenges.

Additionally, the ministers explored avenues for enhancing cooperation and coordination during their anticipated non-permanent tenures on the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term, paying particular attention to the pressing issues currently under the Council's consideration.
