Foreign Minister Engages in Key Discussions at GCC Ministerial Council’s 165th Session

Kuwait city: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the 165th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council held in Kuwait City. The meeting was chaired by Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait and chairman of the current session, with the attendance of foreign ministers from the GCC countries and Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on various agenda items, including the implementation of decisions by the GCC Supreme Council and the Ministerial Council. It also involved reviewing recommendations from ministerial and specialized committees on joint Gulf cooperation, as well as reports from the General Secretariat on enhancing cooperation in domains.

The Ministerial Council further examined updates on negotiations for the GCC Free Trade Agreement with countries and international groups. They reviewed the outcomes of joint meetings between the GCC and partner countries or blocs, all aimed at enhancing shared cooperation.

Regional developments and their impact on security and stability were addressed. This included efforts to stop the war in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and ease the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians. Other discussions focused on maintaining regional security and stability.

Participants included Salah Ali Al Malki, Ambassador of Bahrain to Kuwait; Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, Chief of the Legal Affairs Sector and Acting Chief of the GCC Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
