Foreign Minister Engages in Global Coalition Meeting for Two-State Solution Implementation

Rabat: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated via videoconference in the fifth meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was co-chaired by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, and Kaspar Veldkamp, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Participants included European foreign ministers, experts, and specialists on the region.

In a recorded statement, Dr. Al Zayani stated that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is committed to promoting peace and stability through dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. The Kingdom's dedication to coexistence and regional cooperation aims to build a foundation for lasting peace, as demonstrated by the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) with the United States, further strengthened by the United Kingdom's accession to the agreement.

The Foreign Minister highlighted that during Bahrain's presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit, the Kingdom focused on unifying Arab positions and advocating for peace, with a specific emphasis on alleviating the suffering of vulnerable groups impacted by conflicts. He stressed that resolving the Palestinian issue is central to Arab efforts and that the two-state solution is a humanitarian and legal necessity rooted in international legitimacy.

Dr. Al Zayani underscored the urgent need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and detainees, and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid. He emphasized that a long-term settlement should prioritize reconstruction without forced displacement and establish effective governance for security and stability.

The Foreign Minister noted that Arab leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to the Arab plan adopted at the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, co-chaired by His Majesty the King and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, providing a clear roadmap for Gaza's reconstruction. He emphasized the unity among Arab and Islamic countries, now gaining European support, as a significant development.
