Foreign Minister Discusses Regional Security with US Ambassador

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Stephanie L. Hallett, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, they examined the longstanding historical relations and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, focusing on ways to enhance cooperation in support of their shared interests.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion included current regional developments, particularly the implications of Iran's attacks against Bahrain and the GCC states, which threaten regional security and stability. They also addressed the potential risks related to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation. Additionally, the meeting involved exchanging views on enhancing cooperation and coordination within the UN Security Council.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
