Foreign Minister chairs High Human Rights Coordination Committee meeting

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, chaired the 35th meeting of the High Coordination Committee for Human Rights.

He commended the committee’s efforts to promote human rights, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to respect and protect human values, rights and freedoms without discrimination.

He highlighted Bahrain’s recent human rights achievements, stressing the importance of continuing work and joint coordination between competent parties.

The committee discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including the first report of the National Plan for Human Rights, the Comprehensive Guide to Human Rights, in addition to reviewing the recommendations of the fourth report of the universal periodic review of human rights.

The panel has also proposed decisions regarding the topics and reports on its agenda.
