Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, chaired the committee's 42nd meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the Minister commended the committee members for their contributions and efforts to protect and uphold human rights and fundamental freedoms. He emphasised that these efforts align with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting reviewed the National Human Rights Plan, which monitors all local, regional, and international commitments, including projects, recommendations, and concluding observations. The plan serves as a main reference to follow up on and implement these commitments within specified timelines and measurable indicators.
The committee also reviewed the progress of projects under the National Human Rights Plan for 2022-2026. Additionally, the committee discussed various topics on the meeting agenda and made the necessary decisions regarding them.
