New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Faisal Mekdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Syrian Arab Republic, highlighting the ongoing cooperation between the two countries. Both ministers discussed ways to further enhance their bilateral ties across various domains to benefit their nations and peoples.
The dialogue also included discussions on the Syrian leadership's efforts to bolster security and stability within Syria, emphasizing the importance of preserving its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Moreover, the ministers addressed the ambitions of the Syrian people for peace, development, and prosperity. Additionally, they explored the need for continued coordination and consultation on regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by Jamal Fares Al Ruwaiei, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.
