Foreign Affairs Ministers of Bahrain and Portugal Discuss Regional Security and Maritime Navigation

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone call with Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal. They discussed close cooperation between the two countries, regional developments, and efforts to maintain regional security and stability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministers reviewed efforts underway at the Security Council to adopt a draft resolution on maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. They also discussed the repercussions of Iran's closure of the strait on maritime navigation, international trade, and energy and food supplies.

Additionally, Dr. Al Zayani and Minister Rangel exchanged views on issues of common interest, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration to address these challenges.
