Manama: Following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to open, renovate, and restore 40 mosques under the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates across the Kingdom of Bahrain, Yusuf Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, reopened Ras Rumman Grand Mosque in the Capital Governorate after comprehensive renovations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony was attended by members of the Jaafari Endowments Council, MP Ahmed Abdulwahed Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Saleh Taher Tarada, Chairman of the Capital Municipality Council, Mohammed Jafar Al Husseini, Director of the Jaafari Endowments, alongside religious scholars and local residents.
Al Saleh highlighted the commitment of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to preserving places of worship. He noted that the directive, issued for the fourth consecutive year, accelerated mosque renovations, particularly during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Spanning 880 square metres with a capacity of over 1,800 worshippers, Ras Rumman Grand Mosque was reconstructed by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and inaugurated in 2012 by the late Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa.
Al Saleh thanked all contributors and congratulated residents on the mosque's reopening.
