Manama: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, met with Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup. The meeting underscored Bahrain's dedication to attracting investments that bolster the national economy, drive growth, and generate employment opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa emphasized the significant role of financial and banking institutions in creating investment opportunities. He highlighted the enduring cooperation between Bahrain and Citigroup, which spans over five decades. The Minister stressed the importance of exchanging expertise, best practices, and financial technology with leading financial institutions to achieve mutual goals.
The discussion also focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, addressing mutual interests in the financial and banking sectors, and recent global economic developments. The meeting was attended by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and CEO of the Economic Development Board; Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB); Khalid Amro Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba); Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company; and several senior officials.
