Riyadh: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, participated in a high-level panel discussion at the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Conference in Saudi Arabia. The minister emphasised GCC's commitment to driving economic growth through diversification and innovation. He highlighted the importance of adopting fiscal strategies tailored to regional priorities, focusing on boosting non-oil revenues, attracting foreign investments, and fostering sustainable development. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman noted the GCC's progress in aligning financial governance with regional economic goals, creating opportunities for innovation and deeper integration. He described how these efforts are helping the region attract global investments and strengthen its economic position. Shaikh Salman also outlined Bahrain's economic diversification efforts, emphasising key sectors such as financial services, oil and gas, tourism, ICT, logistics, and manufacturing. He highlighted the im portance of economic stimulus policies, research and development, job creation, and training, particularly for Bahrain's young workforce. The minister also underscored the government's success in managing expenditures and achieving a balanced relationship between non-oil sector growth and fiscal policies through the Fiscal Balance Programme.
