Manama: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, received Fahad bin Abduljalil Al Saif, Chairman of Gulf International Bank (GIB). The meeting was also attended by Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain; Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company; and several other officials.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister underscored the essential role of the banking and financial sector in bolstering economic development. He noted the sector's significance in promoting sustainable growth and reiterated Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation with both regional and international financial institutions. This cooperation aims to create quality opportunities and leverage Bahrain's competitive and attractive environment, reinforcing its status as a financial hub in the region and beyond.
