Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa led Bahrain’s delegation to the annual Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Governors’ meeting.
The three-day session opened today in Tashkent under the patronage of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focuses on the challenges resulting from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ways to recover from the pandemic.
The minister stressed the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin the Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the efforts of the group and member countries and their role in setting cooperation frameworks to achieve desired goals.
The meeting discussed economic recovery from the pandemic by focusing on the health infrastructure and the field of vaccines, and building economic resilience through the development of human capital, especially youth and women, and stimulating growth and the green economy .
