Manama: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the final qualifiers of the Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize commenced today, with 75 contestants advancing from an initial 4,242 participants. The competition is organised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdulla Al Omari, Director of Holy Quran Affairs at the Ministry, stated that the competition features seven categories, including memorisation, recitation, and specialised contests for school students, individuals with disabilities, inmates, non-Arabic speakers, and the general public.
In addition to the main competition, several incentive awards will be presented, including Oldest and Youngest Participant, "Mizmar Dawood," Best Quran Centre, "Family Under the Shade of the Quran," and Best Local Quran Competition.
Al Omari noted that the judging panel comprises four experienced male and female experts specialising in Quranic recitation and memorisation.
