Manama:The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has announced the opening of registration for its monthly Fixed Billing System until October 31, following an order from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this order permits Bahraini citizens residing in their primary homes to register retroactively, starting from May 2026. The difference between the bills issued from May to September 2026 and the average monthly bill will be credited to their accounts with EWA.
Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, stated that this initiative underscores the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's dedication to addressing the needs of citizens, enhancing family stability, and providing more options for Bahraini households.
The Fixed Billing System is designed to offer subscribers flexibility in bill payments, allowing them to select their preferred payment method from the authority's approved channels without automatic deductions. This system helps citizens maintain predictable household expenses by paying a fixed monthly amount for electricity and water based on their average monthly bills, thereby avoiding fluctuations in bill amounts throughout the year.
