Electricity Ministry and Nasser Centre for AI Research Explore AI Applications in Energy Sector

Manama: The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs welcomed a delegation from the Nasser Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development to discuss collaboration in digital transformation and AI applications within the electricity, water, and energy sectors. The delegation, led by Dr. Jassim Haji, Executive Advisor to the Centre, focused on enhancing cooperation between the two entities.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting included discussions on the latest innovations and technical solutions aimed at improving resource management efficiency, rationalising consumption, and promoting clean energy sources. The talks also centered on employing AI in renewable energy projects, particularly solar energy, to support government initiatives addressing environmental and climate challenges as part of the sustainable development goals aligned with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.

Both parties stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and transferring knowledge through specialised training programmes and joint research. This collaboration aims to develop national competencies, support technical innovation, and establish Bahrain as a key regional hub for sustainable energy and digital transformation.
