The meeting focused on strengthening Bahrain-UK collaboration in sustainable energy and advanced technologies, highlighting Bahrain's commitment to implementing global best practices in the sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion included Bahrain's efforts toward environmental sustainability, with initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions by 30% by 2035 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Minister McCarthy praised Bahrain's progress in renewable energy and energy efficiency, expressing the UK's dedication to cooperating on innovative clean energy solutions and expanding bilateral collaboration.
The meeting also addressed enhancing joint research and development in solar and wind energy, energy storage technologies, and knowledge exchange on policies and strategies for transitioning to a green economy.
