Cairo: Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held talks with Sam Mostyn, Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, who is currently visiting Cairo.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting underlined the importance of enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
President El Sisi pointed to the promising investment opportunities available in Egypt, which Australian companies could benefit from, particularly in the domains of clean energy production, green hydrogen, agriculture, tourism, technology industries, mining, and the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The meeting also discussed means to support cooperation between the two countries in the field of food security, mechanisms to facilitate Egyptian exports to Australian markets, and cooperation in the domains of culture, education, and tourism.
Discussions also touched on regional and international developments of mutual interest, foremost among them the situation in the Gaza Strip.
