Egyptian and Finnish Presidents Discuss Regional Security and Economic Cooperation

Cairo: Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held a joint press conference with Alexander Stubb, President of the Republic of Finland, in Cairo. The Egyptian President affirmed Egypt's full rejection and condemnation of the attacks against Gulf and Arab states. He stressed that the security of Arab countries is an integral part of Egypt's national security and underscored the need to continue coordination to achieve regional and international stability, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, both sides emphasised the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation and creating a favourable investment climate, particularly in the sectors of telecommunications, renewable energy, digital transformation, and education, while reviewing the opportunities provided by infrastructure projects in Egypt.

President El Sisi briefed his Finnish counterpart on Egypt's efforts to achieve de-escalation and prevent further escalation. He stressed the need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid. The Egyptian President also rejected the displacement of the Palestinian people and reaffirmed his commitment to the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
