Egypt and Trkiye Discuss Ceasefire Efforts in Gaza

Cairo: Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, held a telephone call with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trkiye, to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip and efforts to restore the ceasefire agreement and implement its three phases.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the call was part of ongoing coordination between the two countries regarding the situation in Gaza. Both ministers focused on the release of hostages and detainees and the facilitation of humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid, despite continued Israeli escalation and aid restrictions.

They also exchanged views on Sudan, where Minister Abdelatty emphasised the Arab Republic of Egypt's support for Sudanese national institutions to restore stability, highlighting respect for its sovereignty and unity. The call also addressed developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

Abdelatty underscored Egypt's support for Somalia in combating terrorism and enhancing its national army, while reiterating Egypt's rejection of the involvement of non-littoral states in Red Sea security arrangements.
