Manama, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education, praised the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, urging relevant authorities to strengthen the Bahraini identity among all members of society.
He also commended the announcement by Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Follow-up Committee for the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna), regarding the launch of a national conference to reinforce the Bahraini identity in the first quarter of 2025.
The minister highlighted that the Ministry of Education will actively contribute to the success of this conference as part of its commitment to instilling the Bahraini identity in youth and students from an early age. He said this responsibility is reflected in the ministry’s provision of curricula, activities, and a conducive educational environment to preserve national identity, ensuring it i
s nurtured among kindergarten, school, and university students.
He also noted that the ministry has introduced educational material on Bahrain’s history across all educational stages, including higher education, recognising local history as a core element of national identity. The ministry continues to promote this identity through various competitions, events, and activities such as theatre, scouting, sports, and school visits that reinforce the components of national identity.
The minister expressed his pride in the significant work carried out by the Ministerial Follow-up Committee for (Bahrainouna), led by the Interior Minister, in promoting national values, belonging, and identity, and the important initiatives included in this plan, which are being implemented across government institutions.
