Education Minister participates in Arab Education Ministers conference

Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, participated in the 12th conference of the Arab Ministers of Education which was held virtually by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), under the theme “ Catch-up Education, Second Chance”, and was chaired by the State of Palestine.

 

As Chairman of the previous session, the Education Minister conveyed in his opening speech the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to all the participants in the conference. He also expressed honour in handing over the presidency of the current session to Palestine.

 

The Minister of Education stressed Bahrain’s success in handling the pandemic thanks to the directives of HM the King and the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the national medical taskforce. He pointed out the ministry’s success to ensure sustainability of education in all stages despite suspending the students’ real attendance for months. He noted the ministry’s reliance on a solid base of e-learning at schools thanks to the King Hamad Future Schools Project which was launched in 2005. He also pointed out the advanced phase reached in the project by launching the digital empowerment programme in education in 2015, which is considered a milestone in equipping the teachers and students with cutting edge technological capabilities.
