Manama: The Saudi Bahraini Institute for the Blind: The Saudi Bahraini Institute for the Blind held a graduation ceremony for its 30th cohort, recognising outstanding students across all academic levels. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma commended the institute's efforts and the achievements of its students, noting their determination and perseverance in overcoming challenges. He also highlighted the support provided by the ministry's special educational needs centre and mainstream schools accommodating visually impaired students, ensuring their right to inclusive education.
The minister emphasised that blind students demonstrate strong will, ambition and a passion for overcoming obstacles to reach their goals. He added that the success stories of many visually impaired students serve as an inspiration to the entire educational sector.
Ibrahim Ali Al Burshaid, Assistant Undersecretary for Education, lauded the institute's role in offering specialised educational and rehabilitation programmes that facilitate student integration into mainstream schools and have led many to pursue university studies.
Abdulwahid Mohammed Al Khayyat, Director of the Saudi Bahraini Institute for the Blind, underlined the Ministry of Education's pivotal role in supporting the institute's students and commended its commitment to people with special needs.
The event included performances by the students, including speeches and theatrical presentations, showcasing their talents and the skills they developed throughout their academic journey. A total of 26 students from primary through higher education levels were honoured during the ceremony.
