Manama: The Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain (UoB) convened for its regular meeting under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board, with the presence of all board members and University President, Dr. Fuad Al Ansari.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Board extended congratulations to the university staff for successfully completing the institutional review by the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), achieving a distinguished rating. The meeting agenda included a review of the strategic partnership project with Times Higher Education (THE), aimed at positioning the university in the global ranking system for the first time to boost its competitiveness locally, regionally, and internationally.
Board members were updated on the university's regulations and organizational structures. The Chairman highlighted the ongoing coordination with the Civil Service Bureau to appoint qualified Bahraini leadership within the university. The meeting also discussed the student course evaluation system and updates from the Unit for Teaching Excellence and Leadership.
Reports reviewed at the meeting included the final institutional review report from the BQA, the Academic Committee report, the Audit and Finance Committee report, and a performance report covering recent academic and developmental progress. Dr. Juma concluded by reiterating the Board's dedication to monitoring the university's progress to ensure continued competitiveness, improved academic outcomes, and strengthened private sector partnerships.
