Edamah Launches Enhancement Works for Bilaj Al Jazayer Beach

Bahrain: Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, is embarking on enhancement works at Bilaj Al Jazayer public beach. This initiative marks the first phase of the Bilaj Al Jazayer masterplan landscape enhancement, aimed at transforming Bahrain's sunset coast into a renewed experience.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the enhancements are focused on improving the visitor experience by creating a more accessible and enjoyable beachfront. The project spans over 80,000 square meters and will introduce an active, lifestyle-led beachfront. Key features include shaded walkways, sports and outdoor fitness areas, dedicated cycling and jogging tracks, and a playground.

In addition to recreational facilities, the space will offer food and beverage outlets, retail options, parking and valet services, and lush green areas. This initiative aims to create a dynamic and accessible coastal destination for all visitors.

Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah and the master developer of the Bilaj Al Jazayer project, emphasized the company's focus on shaping destinations that support wellness and foster inclusive experiences. He noted that the enhancements are part of a broader vision to develop thriving communities that bolster Bahrain's tourism landscape and economic growth. The public beach plays a crucial role in this vision, with the enhancement works designed to offer a more integrated and vibrant environment for families, residents, and visitors.

Construction is set to begin on April 13, during which the public beach will be temporarily closed for the works. The Bilaj Al Jazayer masterplan covers approximately 1.6 million square meters and includes hospitality, residential, retail, and entertainment components. Among its notable features are the Avani Hotel, Tivoli Hotel and Residences, Club Hawaii @ Bahrain Surf Park, and Azure beach club. Recently, the project received a Five Star Award in the Mixed-Use Development category at the Arabian Property Awards 2025-2026 in London, highlighting its status as a highly anticipated coastal destination in the region.
