Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, received Dr. Ahmed bin Talib Al Jabri, Deputy Chairman of Oman's National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, and his delegation. The meeting underscored the robust bilateral ties between Bahrain and Oman, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in reform and social domains.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Omani delegation was briefed on Bahrain's innovative approaches in alternative sentencing and the open prisons programme. These initiatives are part of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's comprehensive reform efforts, supported by the government under His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The meeting highlighted the role of these programmes in bolstering community security and human rights, as well as their positive impact both locally and internationally.
During their visit, the Omani delegation toured the open prisons complex, which features advanced facilities, including educational buildings, vocational workshops, and a fully equipped sports centre. The delegation praised Bahrain's advancements in the criminal justice system and expressed eagerness to further exchange expertise to achieve shared objectives.
