Director-General of Traffic: positive outcomes of assigning mutually resolved minor accidents to insurance companies

Director-General of Traffic, Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa revealed today the positive outcomes of the decision to assign mutually resolved minor accidents to insurance companies and the use of the e-Traffic app to report those accidents.

He said that the decision promotes traffic safety because of the awareness of road users of their social responsibility of promoting general safety. He valued the good response of drivers and their commitment to follow procedures, highlighting the role of the project in achieving traffic safety and reducing traffic congestions, times and efforts.

The Director-General said that traffic police personnel assigned to deal with minor accidents had been assigned to handle traffic deployments on the roads to limit accidents and violations. He stressed the importance of increasing awareness of the use of online services and the new procedures for minor accidents to reach out to all segments of society.

He also stressed the role of increasing CCTVs to detect driving speeds and the development of e-services to promote traffic safety, urging drivers’ commitment to the traffic rules, especially those that cause traffic accidents. He highlighted continuous adoption of projects and initiatives to protect lives and property in order to achieve traffic safety for all.
